1/27/2026 - From the Mayor/Village Offices: The Village DPW began cleaning snow from the Business District at midnight  on Tues. 1/27, and the work will proceed until approx. 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

If you have a car parked on Main or Partition, please make an effort to move it elsewhere to have this effort go smoothly, as we are dealing with the remaining snowfall from a major storm.

Note that the DPW will make every effort to keep noise to a minimum. Thank you.

Welcome to Our Village

Nestled in the Hudson Valley, Saugerties borders the Hudson River to the east, and offers views of the storied and scenic Catskill Mountains to the west.

Our Village is historic ... we have the first nationally registered Historic Village Business District.

Our Village is vibrant ... alive with destination businesses, with cuisine from down-home to high-end, with a world-class library, boutiques, two bookstores, a pickle store, multiple/tempting bakeries, a lighthouse that is a hyper-popular B&B, an upscale wine shop, a great bagel shop (to die for!) and beloved hardware, shoe (ever heard of a "pedorthist"?), chocolate, book and hot dog shops.

The Village has always had a strong arts and culture core.  On that strong base, newly arrived professionals have added a number of enjoyable art, music and dance events to our Village's mix.

So yeah, we're proud of our blend of history and also of how we lean into the future.  If you're here, find out more about your Village on this website.  If you haven't had the pleasure of a visit to our Village, the welcome mat is out.  Come and explore!
